50x15 Partner Description: Private-Enterprise Partner
Digital Inclusion Ecosystem Classification:

nComputing and AMD
nComputing and AMD collaborate to bring computing access to schools and libraries in developing markets. nComputing offers an alternative to dedicated PCs and thin clients, allowing the power of a single AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor-based PC to be shared among multiple users for basic computing tasks.

nComputing Mission
nComputing is committed to bringing affordable PC access solutions to schools, individuals, and businesses throughout the world.

nComputing Vision
Cost should not be a barrier that keeps people from participating in the information economy. As a global leader in multi-user computing, nComputing aims to empower a billion more users to get PC access by taking advantage of the vast untapped power of standard PCs.

nComputing Devices
Multi-user computing solves a fundamental contradiction in today’s PC marketplace. There aren’t enough computers to go around, but there’s a huge surplus of computing power on desktops worldwide. Less than half of the world’s potential users have computer access today. There are approximately one billion people—living in both developing and developed nations—who could and would use a PC if it were affordable.

nComputing’s hardware and software technology allows a single PC to be shared by as many as 30 simultaneous users—at a cost as low as $70 per seat. And each user can get a rich PC experience that is generally undistinguishable from having a dedicated PC—except for the fact that the nComputing access terminal is small, silent, and reliable. By providing a full PC experience at a fraction of the cost of traditional PCs, we believe that we have helped to make computing truly possible for anyone anywhere.

As a 50x15 technology partner, nComputing is committed to bringing computing capabilities to people in developing nations, and truly bridging the digital divide.
